VOTE 2020
It has been four long years since the Trump Administration took over in Washington, and this November we face one of the most important elections of our lifetime. The administration’s attack on LGBTQ+ Americans and so many other marginalized communities has been relentless. They have:
- moved to prohibit transgender people from serving in our armed forces
- argued at the Supreme Court that employers should be able to fire someone based on their sexual orientation or gender identity
- fired all members of the Presidential Advisory Council on HIV/AIDS
- rescinded the Obama guidance that extended critical protections to transgender students in schools
- established a new policy that would allow healthcare providers to refuse treatment to LGBTQ+ patients
- and so much more.
But here at home over the last two years, we have seen what can happen when we have pro-equality leadership at every level. We have made remarkable progress in Maine, and we need the same in Washington. Your vote is critical this November as we have the opportunity to make a dramatic change in our national leadership. And it’s important that you know about the pro-equality candidates who deserve your vote.
